Bournemouth Air Festival and Frogham fair

by alistair on Aug.24, 2009, under News

Anyone in the South Coast area over the past few days couldn’t have failed to notice that Bournemouth was hosting it’s 2nd air festival from 20th-23rd August. Well, I braved the crowds and blistering sun (It’s a hard life!) and took the camera, to get some great shots, such as this one:

The Red Arrows displaying to a packed Bournemouth beach on 22nd August 2009. The Synchro pair perform an inch perfect cross only a few hundred feet from the waters edge.

Frogham Fair

Also this bank holiday weekend, 29th August, is the Frogham Fair in the new forest. This is one of the most perfect examples of a classic British Country Fayre.

With demonstrations and events such as the annual terrier racing or wheelbarrow race, cakes and craft stands and classic car display, the fair is a brilliant slice of country life.

As well as my usual role, of assisting the treasury department, I’ll also have a stand there promoting the site and displaying some of my work. If you come to the fair, stop by and have a chat. We’d love to see you!

Gallery News

by alistair on Jul.29, 2009, under News

Work is underway to get the Gallery and shop site up and running. I hope to get the Gallery working early next week (beginning of August) and the shop running shortly after that, so if you could be patient, it will be worth the wait. For instant updates, you could subscribe to the site’s RSS feed (orange icon in top right corner) .

In the meantime, here’s a taster:

Another Place statue watches another sunset

This shot was taken on Crosby beach, Where Anthony Gormley installed 100 cast iron statues of himself into the sand. every tide the sands change to cause some to be buried waist deep while exposing others on pillars.

Thank you for your patience!

Alistair
